How a Daily Routine Saved My Sanity (and Can Save Yours Too!)
Routines are so important, especially when you’re juggling a million things. Recently, I moved away from my family, and suddenly, I had to figure out how to manage my time much more effectively. With two busy little boys, an Etsy shop to run, and a blog I update whenever I can, life felt chaotic. Back when my parents were nearby, they would watch the boys for a few hours a day, giving me some much-needed time to breathe. Now, I’m flying solo!
My husband helps out at night, but we try to reserve that time to relax and reconnect. Between cleaning the house, playing with the kids, planning educational activities, managing my shop, blogging, and finding a sliver of time for myself, I knew I needed a better system. That’s when I decided to create a routine planner—and let me tell you, it has been a total game-changer!
How I Built My Routine
To start, I made a list of everything I needed to get done regularly: household chores, work tasks, time for the kids, and (very importantly) self-care. Then, I assigned each task to a chunk of the day: Morning, Afternoon, or Evening. This way, my routine felt flexible enough to accommodate life’s unexpected moments while still giving me structure.
But I quickly realized I needed more than just a mental list—I needed a visual, trackable system to keep me accountable. That’s when I created this editable PDF routine planner.
Why This Printable Routine Planner is a Lifesaver
I designed this routine planner to be simple yet powerful. Here’s how I use it:
- Type It In: The PDF is fully editable, so I typed out my routine directly on the file.
- Print It Out: I printed several copies and added them to my daily planner for easy access.
- Track Progress: Each day, I check off the tasks I’ve completed. For anything I didn’t get to, I draw a horizontal line through it. This helps me visually see where I’m staying consistent and what I might need to reprioritize.
Having this routine planner has helped me stay on top of everything, from keeping the house tidy to carving out moments for myself. It’s like having a personal accountability partner in my planner!
Get Your Printable Routine Planner
I know how hard it can be to manage all the moving pieces of life, which is why I wanted to share this tool with you. Instead of offering a blank version you’d have to rewrite every week (tedious!), I created an editable PDF so you can customize it to your exact needs and print as many copies as you want.

ROUTINE CHECKLIST DOWNLOADS
My next planner printables are my daily pages! It’s a day on a page with a time schedule and to do’s. I also included Meals, Shopping and Don’t Forget. It is just perfect for those days when I have just too much to do. I don’t use it everyday just when I need to know what time what is going on and such. I have an ongoing to do list in my next section of my planner for things I can’t finish right away. I love using a daily planner because it just feels great to see what time you’re doing what and what you have to get done just for that day.

Hello Wenda. I am trying to print these for my sewdori. None of the sizes you have listed works. I know I printed one a while back that ended up working somehow but I can not figure out how to print the right size I need. Its just a standard dori. I am not sure if this explains it.
hi there do you have an suggestions on how to print this in pocket size with the weekly routine on page1 and then 7 schedule pages to follow and then another weekly routine and then the schedule pages to follow. does this make sense?
Is there a way to print several of the smaller sizes on one page?
if you have adobe indesign you can place two of them with crop marks on a single page.
Thank you!
