memory planner

Hello everyone! Today I wanted to share how I have been using my Erin Condren Planner. This planner is what introduced me into this planner world. & I absolutely love how cute and functional it is. If you’d like $10 off your first Erin Condren planner then click this link to sign up!

This planner is so cute! I really couldn’t let it sit there on my shelf without putting it to use. I am currently using a rose gold kate spade planner, because I love that it is small and portable. I also like having different sections to keep track of my finances and etsy shop. You gotta work with what works for you right? Everyone has different planning needs.

So instead of using my Erin Condren as a typical planner, I have been using it as a “memory planner“. I also started planning & decorating because I wanted something where I can look back on my memories in. I am  horrible at scrapbooking, because I can simply never finish it. With a planner, you kind of have to everyday or it would be a waste since it’s all dated! So let me show you how I use my planner as a memory planner!

Before I start memory planning in my ECLP, I write down everything I did for that day in some Paperchase inserts I use inside of my Kate Spade Planner. It is in a section called “Diary”. They are dated inserts, but only used to write down any memories, things I’ve done etc. That way when the end of the week comes I remember exactly how to fill in my Erin Condren planner!

So sometimes I decorate the pages beforehand, but most times I do it at the end of the week when I write in all the memories.

The most important part to me when filling in my memory pages are the pictures! I print out my own little mini diy polaroids so that they all fit inside my planner boxes. The tutorial for that can be found in this post here.

I feel like the pictures really complete the look! & makes it look way more like a scrapbook! If I didn’t take a bunch of pictures, I would just use my instax camera and put in one big picture for the week – usually a highlight of the week!

I have been trying to take pictures of everyday moments, the little things in life, for my kids. They grow up way too fast and I want to remember what life was like during these times. I love that the planner is coil bounded so that I don’t have to deal with lots of loose pages! I tried archiving my filofax pages before and I never look back in it because it’s just a mess.

So take a look at some of my memory pages here and see how I use a memory planner!

So some weeks are bare, because either I forgot to print pictures, or nothing really happened. But I love that I can look back on it and see it all! & I can decorate with stickers and washi tape (the best part of planning in my opinion!)

You can shop for stickers and decorate your planner from my shop here: http://www.wendafuldesigns.etsy.com

Anyways I hope you enjoyed this post and maybe help you in planning for memories as well! Thanks for reading!
